Join the UTEP Symphony Orchestra on Friday, November 22nd at 7:30pm in Fox Fine Arts Recital Hall for an exhilarating evening of music that explores themes of fate, the beauty of nature, and triumph.
The concert opens with Giuseppe Verdi’s Overture to La Forza del Destino, an Italian operatic masterpiece swirling with tension and destiny’s unyielding pull. Next, Dr. James Logan, UTEP professor of clarinet, features as soloist in Jenni Brandon’s Fin de la Tierra: Land’s End Concerto, featuring the B-flat clarinet in an evocative journey through the natural wonders and landscapes of California’s coastline. After intermission, Ludwig van Beethoven’s mighty Symphony No. 5 brings the night to a powerful close, sweeping us from its iconic “fate knocking” opening to an electrifying celebration of resilience and victory.
