History of Emotions: Promises, Projects and Achievements
Přednáška představí tzv. emocionální obrat v historiografii a širších humanitních a společenských vědách. Zaměří se na klíčové koncepty a přístupy v oblasti dějin emocí a následně se bude věnovat politice emocí v moderní době. Závěrečná část nabídne reflexi vztahu mezi historickým výzkumem emocí a současným dynamickým rozvojem interdisciplinárního studia emocí.
Prof. Dr. Ute Frevert, Dr. h.c., FBA je historičkou moderních evropských dějin. Působila jako profesorka na univerzitách v Berlíně, Kostnici a Bielefeldu a také na Yale University v USA. V roce 2008 nastoupila do Max Planck Institute for Human Development v Berlíně, kde založila výzkumné centrum pro dějiny emocí. Od roku 2023 je prezidentkou Nadace Maxe Webera. Je členkou řady předních mezinárodních akademických grémií a držitelkou mnoha prestižních ocenění.

History of Emotions: Promises, Projects and Achievements
The lecture addresses the so-called emotional turn in historiography and beyond. It introduces major concepts and approaches in the history of emotions and then focuses on the history of emotional politics in the modern era. The talk concludes with reflections on emotional governance and on the relationship between historical research and the current surge of interdisciplinary emotion research.
Prof. Dr. Ute Frevert, Dr. h.c., FBA is a historian of modern Europe. She has held professorships at universities in Berlin, Konstanz, and Bielefeld as well as at Yale University. In 2008, she joined the Max Planck Institute for Human Development in Berlin, where she established a research center on the history of emotions. Since 2023, she has served as President of the Max Weber Foundation. She is a member of several national academies and a recipient of numerous prestigious awards.
