About this Event

The Leonardo Museum is excited to host the Utah's First Indigenous Fashion Week

Doors open at 6:00 pm

DOORS CLOSE at 6:45 pm

Featuring work from multiple tribes including Hopi, Navajo (Diné), Ute, Northern Ute, Apache, Anishinaabe Ojibwe, and many more. This fashion show is led by Hopi/Tewa artist and fashion designer, Jessica Wiarda (Honovi Designs) along with Navajo (Diné) artist Michael Haswood and Navajo (Diné) TV & Film Producer and Model Sahar Khadjenoury.

Everyone of all peoples, nations, and tribes are welcome to attend this event celebrating contemporary Indigenous fashion, jewelry, and accessories.

Indigenous Artisans will be selling their work before and after the Fashion Show including:

  • Puganini Design (Khapo Owinge, Navajo, Nuciu, Santa Clara Pueblo, Northern Ute)
  • Shandiin Art (Diné) - Salt Lake City, UT
  • Michael Haswood (Diné) - Salt Lake City, UT
  • Authenticoryjoe (Diné) - University of Utah Graduate, Gallup,New Mexico
  • and more!

Join us in elevating and celebrating the indigenous fashion community in Utah and wishing Jessica Wiarda a fond farewell to her Artist Residency at Utah Diné Bikéyah (Bears Ears Gallery within the Leonardo)! Ticket profits will go to paying the Indigenous models and staff who helped put together this event and a large portion will be donated to the Hopi Education Endowment Fund.
