What does seeking equality look like? Inspired by our locally produced film Utah in the 70s, this month’s Shared Stories invites you into a vibrant conversation about the women’s movement during one of Utah’s most transformative decades. Together we’ll explore the social shifts, personal courage, and defining moments that shaped a generation of Utah women.Join trailblazing leaders Justice Christine Durham the first woman to serve on the Utah Supreme Court; Karen Shepherd who represented Utah’s 2nd Congressional District from 1993–1995, and Former Utah State Representative Becky Edwards, who served ten years in the Utah House of Representatives representing District 20, with PBS Utah’s Liz Adeola moderating, as they reflect on the battles fought, the progress made, and what their experiences mean today. Light refreshments will be served as we gather to listen, reflect, and honor the women who shaped this movement.
Seating is limited. Please RSVP by March 11th to Jessica Rasekhi at [email protected]. You may RSVP for up to 4 people.
*This event is part of our monthly Shared Stories Series with the Utah Cultural Celebration Center in West Valley City
