Reiki Level 1 (Shoden): The Awakening

• Purpose: The primary goal is to open the student’s energy channels and introduce them to Reiki energy. This level focuses on self-healing and helping others through touch.

• Key Teachings:

• History of Reiki and the lineage of Usui Reiki

• Reiki principles (e.g., “Just for today, do not anger” etc.)

• Hand positions for self-healing and healing others

• Basic energy flow and understanding chakras

• Attunement: The Reiki Master opens the student’s energy channels, allowing them to connect with universal life force energy.

• How to scan a person’s energy field (Byosen Scanning)

• Practical Application: Students will practice self-healing and giving basic treatments to others.
