In this class, you will be introduced to the history of Usui Reiki, its principles, to a series of systems to read energy and understand how it operates in our bodies and field. The class also includes Reiki attunement which will activate your ability to use Reiki on yourself and offer it to others. There is no prerequisite for this class, except for the desire to learn about Reiki and energy healing systems. The attunement will create a deep and powerful shift of their energy bodies. Students will feel more resourced as they amplify their abilities and clairs, and possibly awaken new gifts.

Reiki 2 will introduce students to the symbols and how to connect with each during client sessions. This is regarded as the Practitioner Level. More so, this level is to continue your path of self-healing and growth with the Universal Life Force. Students will also have a hands-on practicum and offer a remote session as well.

Reiki is an intuitive healing modality that is accessible, simple, and a method of healing that supports one’s personal journey of self-improvement.

Reiki is based on the idea that an unseen "universal life force energy" or more accurately “spirit energy” which flows through us and is what causes us to be alive. If one's "life force" is low, then we are more likely to get sick or feel stress, and when it is high, we are more capable to be healthier and live our most optimal life.

The Usui Reiki system was created by Dr. Mikao Usui (1865-1926) in Japan, and it is administered by "laying of hands'. Though the Reiki system originated in Japan, hands-on healing methods have been practiced by many cultures – so it can be considered as a universal healing method. The modality can be easily adapted to remote sessions as energy has no boundaries.

Reiki is a natural form of healing that creates a beneficial effect and can work in conjunction with other medical or therapeutic techniques to relieve side effects and promote recovery. Incorporating Reiki alongside other modalities can be another resource to medical and therapeutic professionals, yoga and movement teachers, parents, and/or anyone whose work is to care for others.

Usui Reiki 1- 2 Course & Attunement is taught by Reina Prado, a holistic energy practitioner and Reiki Master based in unceded Tongva Territory (Los Angeles, California)

Participants have an opportunity to learn from a practitioner who brings eight years of experience in the field of holistic energy and over twenty years of teaching experience as a college professor. I will share how I have incorporated Reiki into my practice and life.

The course includes instruction, attunement, manuals, 6-months of support from the instructor, invitation to participate in the Salt & Sage series (after completing Reiki 2), and discounted sessions with the instructor. Students will learn:

• An introduction to Usui Reiki
• Elemental energy systems
• Chakra energy system
• How to ground, clear, and cleanse their energy field
• Creation of sacred space to help ground your practice
• Introduction to three Usui Reiki Symbol (Keys)
• Learn what each sacred Reiki symbol represents, how it works, and practice using the symbols and techniques.
• Protocols to implement Reiki in your practice
• Learn how to do an in-person session and remote session.

The cost ranges from $450-$650 to complete both levels. For students who have taken Reiki 1 with me, you'll be given a discount code to enroll in Reiki Level 2. Though the course will be offered in person, you are still responsible to bring materials to support you during the attunement and instruction including but not limited to a journal or notebook to take notes, writing tools, crystals, essential oils, water, and your lunch or snacks to enjoy during class breaks. Workbooks will be provided at each class session by the facilitator. Participants will also have access to recordings of previous Reiki instruction to help support them. Parking is a bit challenging in the neighborhood. I believe there is a dirt lot on the block east of Boyle that charges $5 a day. You can also take the Gold Line and exit Mariachi Plaza. Plan accordingly, as we will start promptly each day. Dress comfortably and bring a yoga mat. I'll have some cushions to help support you. I will also have chairs as you need to be seated for the attunement.

Note about Sliding Scale: Given the information provided, consider what would be an accessible price that you can pay for this instruction and attunement? As you meditate on the price you can invest, also take into consideration our mutual investment of time and energy. What amount would feel like a YES for you? I'm open to working with your budget and setting up payment plans as well. The notion that these healing practices are only for those who can afford to pay a premium price undermines the principle of true healing. I offer a sliding scale for workshops, select courses, and private sessions to all my clients. As you decide which rate to pay, this is an invitation for you to take a look at your (financial) life from a broader perspective and see what privilege you may hold. I ask that you pay as much as you can afford to invest in your well-being at this moment while making sure community members who are economically disadvantaged historically and currently cannot get the care they choose can also have an opportunity to join. My experience with Reina Prado in Usui Reiki Level 1 was transformational and empowering. It invited me to delve deeper into understanding energy- recognizing mine while acknowledging that spirit/guides/ancestors all walk with us as well. We can at any moment ask our spirits/guides/ancestors to provide us with anything- even if that means asking them to step outside of our space for a moment so we can meditate clearer. The class will be held remotely via zoom. The recording if any is taken is for the instructor to review the pace of the class and not to share with the students. The workshop is not recorded; in order, to help you prioritize the important work that you have committed to do and honor the community we are building together.
