Attention Chicago Urban Sketchers! Thanks to the unstoppable enthusiasm of our amazing volunteers, we’re thrilled to announce a week packed with artful goodness right after the Seminar. Say hello to USk Chicago Sketch Camp—our adventure into a week of pure, no-pressure art exploration!
Picture this: a whole week of meetups, sketchwalks, demos and out-of-the-box creative experimentation. We’ll camp out at tables and chairs at Palette & Chisel, where we’ll dive into new materials, swap stories, share tips, and just soak up the joy of playing with art, and seeing how it can apply to urban sketching.
This isn’t your typical Seminar vibe. Sketch Camp is all about keeping it loose and lively, with a mix of events, activities, and creative experiments of all kinds. Our awesome team is ready to make this a blast—think collaborative, relaxed and totally entertaining. No perfection allowed, no expectations!
We’ll be splashing around with watercolors, getting messy with pastels, and even cutting and gluing some collages. Oh, and don’t forget to pack your stool, and your bag lunch (with your name on it!) for our super-fun “Show and Tell” lunchtime get-togethers. We’re keeping things cozy with a cap of 15 spots per activity. Sign-up details are on the way, but we’re starting with folks who were on this year's Seminar waitlist who will get first dibs via email soon.
The best part? This week of creative chaos is 100% free, thanks to the big-hearted members who chipped in to support the Seminar. Plus, it’s the perfect chance to check out the Chicago Sketchshow and chat with our gallery volunteers, who will be charming visitors all week long.
