Workshop Sessions:

1. Decoding Mastery:

• Understand the six major syllable patterns to decode unknown words.
• Read grade-appropriate words with blends and common spelling patterns.
• Utilize word families and more difficult word structures when encountering unfamiliar words.

1. Vocabulary Expansion:

• Read multisyllabic words composed of roots, prefixes, and suffixes.
• Identify irregular contractions, possessives, and apply knowledge of text features.
• Distinguish between fact and opinion, analyze how authors support points with reasons and facts.

1. Text Analysis Techniques:

• Determine how words and phrases contribute meaning to literature through figurative language.
• Identify relationships among words, including multiple meanings, synonyms, and antonyms.
• Interpret information presented in diverse media formats and evaluate its accuracy and purpose.

1. Media Literacy and Critical Thinking:

• Analyze main ideas and supporting details across diverse media formats.
• Examine how media use words and images to attract attention and convey messages.
• Evaluate motives behind the presentation of information and identify persuasive techniques and misleading information.

If you need to pay for your registration via invoice, you may do so by selecting your ticket and then choosing the invoice option at check out.

Cancellation Policy - Cancellations made before the payment settles (usually within 24 hours) will be 100% refunded. Cancellations made 7 calendar days or more in advance of the event date, will receive a 90% refund. Cancellations made less than 7 days of the event will receive a 75% refund.
