Learn to use a jeweler's torch to silver solder projects.
About this Event

Using an oxy-propane mini torch allows you to work with a finer, hotter flame than a standard propane torch.

At MakeIt Labs, we have micro torches that are perfect for jewelry and small crafts. Using one is moderately easy, but there are strict safety procedures to avoid unpleasant accidents. Learn how to start and adjust the torch, apply a flame to metal projects, and use silver solder to join silver, brass, and copper.

Students will be provided with copper or brass pieces to practice with, and silver solder will also be provided.

Safety will be stressed.

This is a hands-on class, and each student will have time to practice the art.

From novice to experienced hobbyist, this class will provide the basic instruction to use the mini gas torch equipment at MakeIt Labs.
