About this Event

Join us in the Pava Center for Entrepreneurship on Tuesday, 3/11 at 3:30 p.m. for an interactive conversation about generative AI featuring experienced non-faculty users. Our panel will showcase the perspectives of undergraduates, graduate students, and young professionals who have participated in AI R&D, and more! Come prepared to ask questions, and don't forget to meet us after the panel at R. Bar for an informal happy hour reception at 5 p.m.

PANELISTS

Amelia Frank (Econ and International Studies '27): Amelia Frank is a current undergraduate at Johns Hopkins studying economics and international studies. She has previously interned for the US AI Safety Institute under the Department of Commerce where she contributed to the organization’s socio-technical research tracks, international governance issues and geopolitical analysis. Prior to her appointment at AISI she conducted independent research on the impact of AI in nuclear submarine warfare and strategic decision making and continues to spearhead research in the military/emerging technology sphere. She is the President of Smart Women in Securities, the Vice President of Johns Hopkins Economics Club, an Account Executive for Nest Strategies at Johns Hopkins, a board member of the Johns Hopkins Technology Policy Society, an Executive member of the Alexander Hamilton Society, and a writer for the undergraduate Law Review.

Qinyu Luo (MSEM '25): Qinyu Luo is a student at Johns Hopkins University with research experience in artificial intelligence. He was previously a member of THUNLP, the AI lab at Tsinghua University, which focuses on researching and developing practical language model-driven agents to address real-world challenges. He is now a student research intern at ByteDance, focusing on multimodality reasoning and multi-agent systems. Through hands-on research and collaborative projects, Qinyu bridges the gap between academic theory and practical application, contributing actively to advancements in the field.

Radhika Sawkar (MSEM '25): Radhika Sawkar is a graduate student in Engineering Management with a robust background in mechanical engineering and nearly a decade of experience in manufacturing and procurement strategy consulting. After earning a degree in Mechanical Engineering in 2015, Radhika worked with global leaders such as Unilever (UK), Reckitt (USA), and Apple Inc. (USA), gaining invaluable insights through business engagements in 17 countries. Recently, Radhika completed a seven-month internship at Apple Inc.’s headquarters in Cupertino, CA, and will be joining as a full-time employee in June. These experiences have provided a front-row seat to how AI is rapidly transforming manufacturing and strategic decision-making. Beyond work and academics, Radhika enjoys playing ping pong at the rec center and diving into non-fiction books on biology, economics, and mathematics.

Abhishek Survase (MSEM '24): Abhishek Survase is a Growth Analyst at Pathsetter AI, a company that specializes in developing AI solutions for enterprises, aiming to maximize organizational efficiency and improve productivity for employees.
