About this Event
DESCRIPTION
Atlanta continues to be a hotbed for sustainability.
This tour highlights a highly visible and unique LEED-certified project that recently opened in the Battery near Atlanta Braves stadium. Participants will not only see LEED in action but learn about the process and lessons learned from project team members. We will discuss aspects of the TKE's strategies and policies that contributed to carbon reduction and LEED certification goals.
The Innovation and Qualification Center is TK Elevator’s state-of-the-art research and development facility. It includes software labs, a digital showroom, engineering offices and training facilities as well as event and meeting spaces located at the top of the building. Anchoring the North American research and development facility is a modern elevator test tower. With 18 shafts, the test tower is used to trial new concepts and product pilots, including high-speed elevators. The test tower also conducts robust tests to ensure compliance with stringent safety requirements on standard elevators. In addition to creating an innovation hub for the elevator industry, TK Elevator also sought to create a sustainable building unlike any other in the industry. From the unique construction process that greatly reduced carbon emissions to the environmentally friendly materials used throughout the facility, TK Elevator’s Innovation and Qualification Center is truly one of the most transformative building of its kind.
The program will conclude with a reception at the rooftop lounge area of TKE's HQ. Hors d’oevres and refreshments will be provided .
