With the upcoming boating season, The USCG Auxiliary will be presenting their third Safe Boating Class on Feb 21 & 22@ the Civic Center both days Saturday and Sunday, 9am to 1pm. We are including the Calusa Club as well as welcoming the Gulf Harbor snowbirds and of course our year round residents to the class. We are offering a special discount to those who attend.
This is a chance to get your lifetime safe boating certificate, accepted in nearly all states across the country. It is now a law that anyone born after Jan. 1, 1988 and will be operating a 10hp and above have this card. Also in order to rent a boat this is a requirement for some boat rentals. Most insurance companies will offer a discount to boat owners for taking this class. It’s also a great refresher course for seasoned boaters. More than half of all fatal boating accidents had operators with no safe boating class. Get your spot secured because we have a limited number of spaces.
