About this Event
NO BUSINESS LIKE SHOW BUSINESS
The entertainment world has lived on content before it arrived on doorsteps everywhere else. Behind the industry are talent who create and develop ideas into memorable experiences. But how do people and companies create quality and memorable content?
To jazz up our regular alumni events, we are inviting 2 speakers to share their experiences from show business.
——————
Both speakers are graduates of USC’s School of Cinematic Arts.
LEXIE CHU
Lexie started with Netflix in Kids and Family Feature Animation Film Development. She then transitioned to her current role in Creative Development at Skydance, an American production company backed by private equity giant KKR, to support the studio’s full animation slate. Prior to Skydance, she worked across several in-development features at animation studio Illumination. Her area of speciality lies in producing and creative strategy for Disney Pixar-style feature films and original IP for global audiences.
Lexie will share topics including feature film development, animation, and navigating timeless, universal storytelling in an industry that tackles unconventionality in the evolving media age.

SHREY BHARGAVA
Shrey is an actor in the spotlight with TV credits including the award- winning This Land is Mine (2021), Third Rail (2022) and Titoudao (2023). His portrayal of a radical opposition politician in The Singapore Trilogy (2021) was also lauded by ArtsEquator as “by far the best performance in the production”. He was the runner-up on "The 5 Search" (2015) at just 19 years old. A graduate of USC’s film school, he is the only actor of Asian origin to be awarded the coveted Ruth & Albert McKinlay Award for Outstanding Actor upon graduation. Shrey currently hosts Singapore’s longest running current affairs show on Mediacorp, Talking Point.
Shrey will tell us about his life as an actor, working behind the scenes and being recognised for what he does.

The main takeaway will be to hear from their insights and possibly apply them laterally into other fields of interest. Join us and hear what it takes to carve out a niche and a career in entertainment that is ever changing.
