USBG TUCSON PRESENTS: ED WEEK - Cocktail classes for professionals and enthusiasts.
About this Event

USBG Tucson is back and excited to present Ed Week again after two years of hiatus. Ed Week is when every USBG chapter hosts events all across the United States to promote, educate, and present the wonderful world of craft cocktails, spirits, history, and techniques. The United States Bartenders' Guild is one of the oldest Guilds still operating in the United States and other countries. The USBG is a non-profit organization promoting the betterment of bartending through education, partnerships, and networking. The USBG also works with-in their community in many volunteer engagements and fund raising to better their cities.

This year's Ed Week consists of four seminars over three days hosted at the Moonstone, Rooftop at The Graduate Hotel & Mr. Heads cocktails and Gallery on Fourth Avenue & at the Hamilton Distillers tasting room.

USBG members are always free, and non-members are allowed to purchase daily tickets for $10.

They'll share how Whiskey Del Bac makes some of America's favorite American single malts. Following the tour, you'll be guided through a comprehensive tasting of their whiskeys — Classic, Dorado, Old Pueblo and some of their limited releases: Normandie and the 2022 Summer Distiller's Cut Release. Beyond the Smoking Gun: How to Incorporate an Iconic Southwestern Flavor into Ingredients and Garnishes

A 45-minute clinic on how to use a small grill or smoker to infuse salt, syrup, citrus and fruits with a signature southwestern flavor. Starting off with a quick tutorial of how to use a mesquite slab and a torch to easily smoke an old-fashioned glass, attendees will be shown step by step how to infuse various common cocktail ingredients with smoke to elevate and differentiate their cocktail offerings. A small, inexpensive grill on hand will be rolling throughout the class, showing how simple it is to smoke a pineapple. Attendees will leave with samples of smoked lime wheels, smoked salt, and smoked simple syrup to experiment with as well as a small printout of guidelines for smoking various ingredients.
