U.S. Trade Policy in the Next Administration

Scott Lincicome will treat topics such as US tariffs and foreign retaliation, the US-China relationship and national security, global supply chains and resiliency, industrial policy, trade agreements, and recent polling concerning US trade politics. Regardless of which candidate wins in November, these will be the issues that will define US trade policy in the near future.

Scott Lincicome is the vice president of general economics and Cato’s Herbert A. Stiefel Center for Trade Policy Studies. He writes on international and domestic economic issues, including international trade; subsidies and industrial policy; manufacturing and global supply chains; and economic dynamism.
