Join CREES on October 24 from 4 to 5pm in the Alderson Auditorium of the KU Memorial Union a panel discussion titled "The US Presidential Election: Ramifications for Russia & Ukraine" with KU Political Science professors Dr. Anton Shirikov and Dr. Robert Rohrschneider.Meet the Panelists:
Anton Shirikov is an Assistant Professor in Political Science at the University of Kansas. He is also a research affiliate at New York University's Center for Social Media and Politics. Anton studies propaganda and public opinion in Russia and other autocracies, as well as the legacies of communist rule. He earned a Ph.D. in Political Science from the University of Wisconsin–Madison, and he recently was a Postdoctoral Scholar in Russian Politics at Columbia University.
Robert Rohrschneider is Sir Robert Worcester Distinguished Professor of political science. His current book project compares the rise of illiberalism in Europe, Israel, and the US. His classes focus on European politics, with a great deal of attention spent on the rise of right and left-extreme parties and people’s attitudes about them. He recently returned from a semester as a Fulbright Visiting Professor at the University of Vienna.
