Join in welcoming the Sailors, Marines and Coast Guardsmen to Miami with a special presentation by a US Navy Band ensemble at Vizcaya!During Miami Fleet Week (May 5 to May 12, 2024) over 800 service members will arrive by ship at PortMiami to celebrate the Navy's vital role in American life.
Join us on Sunday, May 12th from 11:30 am to 12:15 pm, as five woodwind instrumentalists from the US Navy Band perform during the Vizcaya VIllage Farmers Market.
ACCESSING THE VILLAGE | The address to Vizcaya Village is 3250 S. Miami Ave. Miami FL 33129. As we work towards the restoration of Vizcaya Village for the enjoyment of our community, the gate at SW 32nd Road will be closed until further notice. To access the farmers market at the Village, please enter through the Parking Lot from S. Miami Ave.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Farmers Market admission does not include free admission to the Main House and formal gardens on the East side of the estate. To purchase admission ($25 for adults) to visit the East side of the estate, please click here .
About Fairwinds Woodwind Quartet
Navy Band Southeast’s Fairwinds Woodwind Quintet performs a variety of musical styles ranging from traditional brass quintet literature to patriotic fare, Broadway hits, and today’s popular music. They perform at military ceremonies, official receptions, public concerts, and schools throughout the southeast region. They also offer dynamic educational programs specifically designed for students at every education level. A uniquely versatile ensemble, Fairwinds Woodwind Quintet adds a touch of class to any occasion.
About Navy Band Southeast
Since its establishment in 1995, Navy Band Southeast has been dedicated to providing top quality musical support throughout the Southeastern United States for Commander, Navy Region Southeast. Under the direction of Lieutenant Nicholas Nadal, the band is located onboard Naval Air Station Jacksonville and serves the military and civilian communities.
The 45-member organization is comprised of professional musicians committed to the highest level of performance, each performing in various ensembles including ceremonial and parade bands, wind ensemble, the New Orleans style Deckplate Brass Band , the jazz VIP combo, the popular music group Pride , the Windward Brass Quintet and the Fairwinds Woodwind Quintet . Performing more than 350 engagements per year, these musical ambassadors inspire pride and patriotism for military ceremonies, public concerts, parades, school clinics and much more.
To promote inclusion for all, Vizcaya ensures that all community programs, after-hour and weekend events for locals, feature activities that are physically accessible to all visitors. While not all areas of the estate are wheelchair accessible, community programs are purposefully located in areas without stairs or that can be accessed via a ramp.
