Urban Sketching - Meadows Meet and Draw

Have you noticed the different details on the tenements around The Meadows? Have you looked at those intricate windows, relief sculptures on the building, the doorways, chimneys and all of those gorgeous trees and wanted to capture it on paper?

We will start the session with warm up exercises to get you ready. We will look at the smaller details of the tenements then pan out and end the session drawing a section of Barclay Terrace. If we are feeling brave, we will even learn a few techniques for drawing people and cars. After all, they are a part of the urban experience.

I have been teaching art techniques to adults and children for nearly 20 years. It would be my pleasure to teach you some drawing techniques with pen, marker, and even a bit of quick drawing practice to get you ready for a lovely Sunday afternoon out in The Meadows drawing the world around you.

Please be sure to dress appropriately for this as you never know with Edinburgh and its changing weather. If it is raining this session will be rescheduled for the following Sunday, same time, same place.

This drawing workshop is great for kids, too! Age 10 and over welcome.

We will meet just outside of the Pavilion Cafe.
