Come join us at this Urban Sketchers Tulsa event where we will draw or paint what we see. Free to participate!- We will meet up at The Philbrook Museum of Art at 9:30 am on Saturday, September 21, 2024, address: 2727 S. Rockford Road. www.philbrook.org
- Parking: Upper or lower public lots or on-street, handicap parking available on the upper level parking lot (near main entrance)
- Check-in at the main entrance desks. Indicate that you are at the museum with Urban Sketchers Tulsa tour / event.
- Philbrook has waived the normal entrance fees for this event.
- Look for an Urban Sketchers host near the front entrance to welcome and point attendees to the assembly area.
- We hope to use the area just off the rotunda as the assembly area, but that could change depending on what else is happening at the museum.
- All areas of the villa will be available and accessible for sketching.
- Sketchers need to be aware of other guests and not impede access to art works, doors, hallways, etc.
- The gardens will be available unless inclement weather closes them.
- At this time the garden areas on the far side of the creek (southeast corner of the property) are closed to the public due to construction near the Slumgullion Cabin. The cabin and the bridges are included in this closure.
- Philbrook has provided guidelines concerning artist activity in the villa and the gardens – absolutely NO water media, paint or liquid is allowed inside, or personal folding chairs or tripods. The full list of guidelines will be emailed out and posted on Facebook as an additional image in the event comments.
- Participants pick a spot to sketch or paint on their own, using their own supplies, inside or outside.
- Meet up at 11:30 am for a throw-down to share your work
