Join Urban Sketchers Greenville for our February 7th event with local artist Matt Andrews!

After obtaining a B.F.A. from Winthrop University in 2012, Matt Andrews began working for a variety of clients doing illustration. The area where he is most prolific and well-known is artwork for new pinball machines. Though much of his illustration is produced and sent to clients digitally, he has spent the past few years focusing on back-to-basics traditional art, specifically outdoor sketching and painting. His recent sketches are done with a few brushes filled with alcohol and ink to block in color and texture, then lines are added with a fountain pen. Urban Sketchers Greenville meets once a month to practice on-location drawing in downtown Greenville. Our events begin with a short lesson followed by sketching on your own at different locations. We end with a throw-down of our drawings to admire each other's work and take a group picture.

*Please expect some walking and standing at our event. You are welcome to bring a portable folding stool or chair.

If the event tickets sell out, please join us anyways, we do not limit our event to 30 people.
