Let’s head downtown to the Las Olas Riverwalk area; and sketch the oldest surviving structure in Broward County, Stranahan House!Stranahan House is the home of Fort Lauderdale pioneers Frank and Ivy Stranahan. Built in 1901 as a trading post and converted into a residence for the Stranahans in 1906.
We will meet on the green patch of artificial turf on the east side of the Historic Stranahan House at 10:30 AM on Saturday, September 21, 2024. We will conclude our sketching at 12:45 PM; and share our sketching experiences as well as "throwdown" our artwork to make a pop-up art gallery out of our work.
Parking is available curbside or at nearby parking garages or lots. You may also find it exciting to take the Water Taxi along the New River to reach this riverfront destination.
Please bring your own sketching materials if you have them. Those who do are encouraged to share with others. There are many points of interest in this area that can be used as focal points and subject matter. This is a judgement-free event. All levels of skill and experience are welcome.
Please remember to bring water for your hydration. There will be many shaded areas to sketch in.
There is no cost to attend this Urban Sketchers Fort Lauderdale group event.
