Urban Planning Film Series: Mountains

Join Florida State's Department of Urban and Regional Planning Student Association as we host our first ever Urban Planning Film Series.

Admission is free to the public. Refreshments will be provided.

Our third film to be shown is Mountains (2023) at the Student Life Cinema on FSU's campus.

Xavier, a devoted husband, father, and neighbor meets a moral crossroads as he realizes that his livelihood within a demolition crew is contributing to the dismantling of his chosen community.

Little Haiti, once a thriving, self-sustaining, immigrant enclave in North Miami, is now threatened by the twin forces of rental profiteering and climate gentrification.

As the neighborhood is bled of its culture and the residents who once cultivated it, life continues for the those still dreaming to carve out a place of their own in a neighborhood wrestling for its survival.
