Explore edible, medicinal, textile, and dye plants growing right in your neighborhood! Learn how to safely and ethically identify, harvest, and use what’s already around you. We’ll examine plants typically found in urban Portland areas, see examples of items made from foraged plants, and sample food/beverage items made with them! The last half of the class will be spent exploring the area around SGP, identifying the edible/medicinal plant abundance often found in Portland neighborhoods.

This workshop will be facilitated by ecological educator and botanical maker Gina Southern, founder of Vessel Kitchen Gardens, and is the first of a three part series on cultivating resilience through plants.
