Urban Cross-Pollination Oslo is a three-day art-based cross-innovation workshop exploring the future of creative spaces, the value they bring to an area, and the lessons that can be transferred from the lower Akerselva corridor to other places and cities.In this 3 day workshop, we explore how creative hubs can be nurtured as important social, cultural and economic infrastructure.
‣ Which ownership models, actors, networks and practices support creative diversity today?
‣ What value do creative spaces create for the area?
‣ How are rising prices and redevelopment affecting creative producers? What are the narratives, and what is the reality?
‣ What can be learned and transferred?
Together with our Estonian project partner Destructura, the discussions and output from all of the sessions will be transformed into an art exhibition that will be displayed in Estonia and Norway, to illustrate and lift up the challenges and developed solutions.
Day 1 | Sunday June 14th at Hausmania: Understand the place and its value (talks and walks)
‣ Participants network with key stakeholders and explore what is already working and how creative spaces contribute to the wider urban ecosystem.
Day 2 | Monday June 15th at Blå: Explore models and narratives
‣ Participants develop ideas for ownership, governance, shared programming and collaboration models that can support creative diversity over time.
Day 3 | Tuesday June 16th at Hausmania: Develop future scenarios and transferable lessons
‣ Participants turn insights into concrete future scenarios, pilot ideas and roadmaps, while identifying lessons that can be relevant for other areas and cities.
‣ Output: actionable proposals for the UCP exhibition and digital catalogue.
