About this Event
Indiana Audubon and Eagle Creek Park invite you to explore the tranquil west side of Indianapolis's largest city park, where fall leaves and a past-bloom prairie host fall migrating birds.
Join Olivia Bautch, an Indiana Audubon member and outreach partner, at the Eagle's Crest Trails at Eagle Creek Park to enjoy warblers, sparrows, flycatchers, and other seasonal species passing through this urban oasis.
We'll meet at 8 a.m. ET on the far end of the parking lot, where van-accessible parking and one chair-accessible portable restroom is available onsite. This ADA-accessible trail is wide and paved, winding through edge, meadow, and forest habitats.
A limited number of binoculars will be available to borrow. Please remember to bring any other gear or aids that will help you best enjoy this outing.
Accessibility
This out-and-back outing on the ADA Loop Trail is designed primarily for birders with limited mobility, and is expected to cover up to 0.3 miles at a slow pace. There will be ample opportunities to stop along the way, and our route will be mostly shaded. There are no benches along the trail.
Visit Eagle Creek Park Foundation's west side trails page for general info. For accessibility info on the Eagle's Crest ADA Loop Trail, see the Birdability review linked here.
Park Admission
Admission to Eagle Creek Park is $6 per vehicle for Marion County residents and $7 for non-residents. At the west trail gate, drivers without an annual Eagle Creek Park pass will need to pay at a ticketed gate arm using a credit card. This is a pay-as-you-exit system. Those with a valid annual pass may scan it for entry.
Registration
This outing is open to all ages and all levels of birders! Registration is required and limited to 20 participants. Event tickets are free for Indiana Audubon members and $5 per person for non-members, plus applicable Eventbrite processing fees.
