The Blues Fusion Dance Scene hosts "Uptown Groove” in the “French Quarter Club”, a hidden gem on the 2nd floor of “The French Quarter” restaurant in a majestic building downtown, circa 1849.

THE BAND - It’s true, Uptown Groove is one of Rochester’s top wedding bands … yet they’re far more than that. As a band, their mission is to engage with the audience, draw them onto the dance floor and inspire folks to dance into the night. As musicians, they deliver, subtle yet with power and command throughout the ensemble. As people, they naturally connect with audience, making them feel both at home and “out” for a good time late at night.

The Uptown Groove is a 6-piece group that plays a variety of Motown, R&B, Soul, Funk, Latin, Jazz, Pop and Rock. Each member of the band’s musical background is unique, diverse and extensive, enabling them to seamlessly span a broad range of musical genres. One thing that’s consistent throughout, whatever and wherever they play, each and every song gets folks on their feet, moving and grooving, smiling and laughing deep into the night.

FRENCH QUARTER CLUB SPACE - Perfect for music and dance ~ The French Quarter’s spacious 2nd floor had been a music club in the mid-to-late 20th Century whose stage still possesses a mural of Jazz greats like Billie Holiday and Thelonious Monk, a reminder of greatness past. Ample space on the wood floor for dancing. An abundance of tables for schmoozing and dining from the savory Creole creations of Neciah 'Nick' Brown, owner and head chef.

DINNER & TREATS SUGGESTED: The French Quarter is a fabulous & authentic Louisiana Creole restaurant. You can make it a special night treating yourself to a luscious Creole meal or treat downstairs before the show. That said, you can eat upstairs during the show, the food is just as scrumptious and experience not quite as gracious.

The French Quarter Restaurant is located downtown in the historic (1849) Brewster-Burke House, a City Landmark and is on the National Register of Historic Places right next to the Jonathan Childs House, which Dancers will remember as the location of the Tango Cafe.

• WESTBOUND ON 490 --> after crossing the Genesee River take the 1st exit (Exit 14 - Broad St, Plymouth Ave), 1st house/building on the left ... voila ... The French Quarter.

• EASTBOUND ON 490 --> Exit 13 for Plymouth Ave, keep right, turn right on Plymouth, turn right on Spring Street.
