Upsydaisy Craft - Ceramic Pumpkin Workshop

Course description:

Nat from Upsydaisy Craft will show you simple pottery techniques to create pattern and texture using a pinchpot building technique. There is lots of fun to be had playing with clay on this exciting workshop. You will produce at least 1 ceramic pumpkin during this workshop.

As the pieces dry Nat will demonstrate glazing and bring along examples of the colours for the class to glaze their own pieces. The finished items will be loaded into individual boxes and taken away to be fired in Nat's kiln and will be ready for collection from the Gallery approximately 2 weeks later.

Nat will bring examples of what can be made and you are welcome to bring along any stamps/textures of your own that you may want to try in the clay or work from any ideas or sketches you may have. Or just come along and see what creativity inspires you on the day!

Who is the course for?

No previous experience is required. This workshop is suitable for over 16years. However, over 12years are permitted to attend with adult supervision.

Do I need to bring anything?

All materials and tools are provided, please wear comfortable clothes that you don’t mind getting a bit dirty or bring your own apron if you like, but clay doesn't stain.

Nat says: "I’ve always enjoyed the creative freedom of ceramics, and after my craft degree finished, I wanted to keep making and exploring clay. I now have a studio at home with my little kiln where I can happily sit listening to the radio, doodling and making.Getting a fresh bag of clay and turning it into some colourful jewellery through the magic of the kiln is always amazing, opening the kiln after a day of it heating my house is a lot of nervous excitement!"

The Venue

Craft Leeds is based in the centre of the city, easily accessible via a variety of public transport. Unfortunately, we do not have a dedicated car park, but there are many options in the city. We are a functioning Gallery/Shop space open to the public, allowing for inspiration to be all around in this unique workshop environment.

In accordance with Eventbrite's refund policy, refunds can be issued upon request up to 7 days before the event. The amount refunded is minus the service fee (which keeps Eventbrite running) of 6.95% + £0.59 per ticket
