Upskilling & Career Exploration with the START Center

Business leaders in the Knoxville MSA are invited to tour Knox County’s new hub for career and technical training, the START Center.

START was founded through a public-private partnership between Knox County Government and trade-based industry and education leaders in response to growing workforce shortages in skilled trades. With programs in HVAC, electrical, carpentry, and plumbing, START equips both high school students and adult learners with the certifications and coaching they need to pursue high-demand careers.

Attendees of Upskilling & Career Exploration with the START Center will tour the new facility, hear how START is shaping the region’s workforce strategy, and learn how the business community can get involved as hiring partners, mentors, or advocates for long-term talent development.
