You're cordially invited to join us for the upcoming Working Women's Wednesday Luncheon on March 27th. This month, we are thrilled to host Lindsey Chinni as our speaker.Lindsey Chinni embodies the spirit of determination and entrepreneurship. Lindsey moved her husband and two sons onto her family’s farm in 2017, promptly adding nine chickens and a few thousand bees the following spring. Lindsey has been practicing her version of homesteading ever since, diving into mushroom farming, vegetable and small fruit gardening, raising meat birds and beef cows, and canning and baking for her family and community. After five years as a vendor at the Downtown Mebane Farmers Market, she now serves as the market coordinator.
A graduate of the University of Central Florida, Lindsey spent several years teaching high school before diving headfirst into farming. Her passion for education carries over into her day-to-day life on the homestead, leading her to try all sorts of new things in the dirt as well as to help others discover the value of local agriculture. She helped her father to trace the family farm more than 200 years, and after fixing up a couple of old outbuildings, she and her husband are now working to restore their 1865 homeplace. Lindsey is a proud member of the Alamance County Beekeepers, Got to Be NC, and Visit NC Farms.
These days, when she’s not stewarding her little plot of land and all of its inhabitants, you can usually find Lindsey cheering on her boys at a local baseball field.
