About this Event
Upcycling with Hand Embroidery 101
Come join us at Fringe & Foliage for a fun and creative event where you can learn how to upcycle your old clothes with beautiful hand embroidery! Whether you're a beginner or an experienced stitcher, this workshop is perfect for anyone looking to add a personal touch to their wardrobe or personal items. Our talented instructor will guide you through the process, providing tips and tricks along the way. Don't miss out on this opportunity to unleash your creativity and give new life to your old garments! This workshop is best suited for ages 14 years and up.
The workshop includes all supplies needed to complete a stitch project, as well as a sample of designs to choose from. Workshop attendees must bring 1 item to embroider. Items can be anything from a hat, tote bag, tea towel, denim, cotton/linen shirt, sweater, apron, or more. Those new to the art should opt for more stable fabrics (such as cotton, canvas, or linen), and those with some stitching confidence and experience are welcome to bring knit items (such as stretchy t-shirts) if they choose.
The workshop will last 2.5 hours and include an introduction to hand embroidery. The instructor will teach a few beginner stitches and cover some best practices that will be helpful to new and experienced stitchers. Attendees will be able to take home a needle and some threads.
The welcoming plant life at Fringe & Foliage makes for the perfect atmosphere.
