Upcycled, Unconventional Printmaking with Beth Korth

This class will focus on traditional intaglio, monotype, and block-making techniques, using non-traditional, single-use waste as our matrix. These items have a memory and built-in texture and context that each artist can tap into to give them new life and make a little beauty out of the garbage. I can bring items, or students can bring materials they are interested in using; I will demo with any foil-lined cardboard or waste items with a slick texture and a little give.
Great examples are:
coated paper, Tetra Pak cartons, chip bags, foil-lined cardboard boxes. All brought materials must be empty of food and cleaned. Pro-tip: If you are not sure about an item, the packaging lists material information next to the recycling number.
