Up with the Birds! Birding by Ear Breakfast Session

Enjoy the unique scenery of Westgate Park on a free and relaxed ranger and volunteer-led walk. On this walk we will learn how to identify key bird species by their calls. Westgate Park is renowned as a birding hotspot, in this easy 1.5 hour long walk we will learn about the birds that call it home and the habitat that supports them. We will also enjoy some senosry activities to tune up our sense of hearing.

If you are blind or vision impaired, you may need to organise to attend the walk with a support person. If you do not have a support person, email us at [email protected] to arrange for a Park Walks volunteer guide to assist you who has sighted guiding experience.

Meeting point: Salt Lake Car Park on Todd Road, Port Melbourne.

If you require assistance travelling from Southern Cross Station to Westgate Park, we have arranged a meeting point at Travellers Assistance for attendees and volunteers to travel together by bus. Please contact us for the details.

Please note the following:

• These walks are open to everyone but have been developed to accommodate for blind or vision impaired participants.

• Bookings are essential.
• This event may be cancelled at the last minute due to extreme weather conditions.
• You will be emailed if the event is cancelled.
• In the event that your circumstances change and you are no longer able to attend, please cancel your ticket via Eventbrite so our volunteer guides are aware and do not wait for you to arrive. This will also allow others to attend in your place. To cancel your order please follow the steps below.

1. Go to your order.Log in to your Eventbrite account. Then go to "Tickets" and click on your order.

2. Choose "Cancel Order".

Desktop — Select 'Cancel Order" (next to your order details). Then choose “Yes, cancel this order".

Eventbrite app — Select the three-dot menu in the upper right corner and tap “Cancel order”.

3. Check for an email from Eventbrite.

The attendee and event organiser receive an email to confirm cancellation.
