Portsmouth Symphony musicians showcase the richness, flexibility, and often surprising range of the classical chamber music repertoire in the intimate setting of Jimmy's Jazz & Blues Club where barriers between musicians and audience members are broken down and connections are formed.
๐‰๐จ๐ข๐ง ๐ญ๐ก๐ž ๐๐จ๐ซ๐ญ๐ฌ๐ฆ๐จ๐ฎ๐ญ๐ก ๐๐ซ๐š๐ฌ๐ฌ ๐๐ฎ๐ข๐ง๐ญ๐ž๐ญ ๐Ÿ๐จ๐ซ ๐š๐ง ๐ž๐ง๐ญ๐ž๐ซ๐ญ๐š๐ข๐ง๐ข๐ง๐  ๐ฃ๐ฎ๐ฑ๐ญ๐š๐ฉ๐จ๐ฌ๐ข๐ญ๐ข๐จ๐ง ๐จ๐Ÿ ๐ญ๐ก๐ž๐š๐ญ๐ซ๐ž ๐š๐ง๐ ๐ฃ๐š๐ณ๐ณ. The quintet will pay tribute to the Broadway musicals Chicago and a Chorus Line, ahead of their fiftieth anniversaries. They will close the first half with a suite of music from Kurt Weillโ€™s jazz-influenced Threepenny Opera. The second half will feature American jazz tunes from the early twentieth century. Selections will include "12th Street Rag", "When the Saints Go Marching In", "It Donโ€™t Mean a Thing", and "Ainโ€™t Misbehavinโ€™".
