Philadelphia’s longest-running feminist choir meets New York City’s first LGBTQ+ gospel choir — and the result is Unstoppable. ANNA Crusis and Lavender Light Gospel Choir join forces for a landmark collaboration celebrating music as resistance, community as power, and joy as a radical act.
Founded in 1985 by two Black gay men reclaiming their musical and spiritual roots, Lavender Light is an independent, Black-led, intergenerational chorus with over 40 singers spanning ages 20 to 72. They bring the full force of the Black gospel tradition to every stage — from Carnegie Hall to the United Nations to World Pride 2025.
Each choir performs several songs. Then they raise the roof together.
Two choirs. Two cities. One unstoppable voice.
