UNSHAKEN: Anti-Bullying & Self Defense for Teens
About this Event
UNSHAKEN: Anti-Bullying & Real-World Self-Defense Workshop
For Teens in Grades 6–12
Bullying doesn't just happen in school hallways. It can happen online, through social media, in group chats, and in everyday situations. Knowing how to recognize bullying, respond confidently, and protect yourself can make a real difference.
UNSHAKEN is a one-hour, interactive Krav Maga workshop designed to empower middle and high school students with the confidence, awareness, and practical skills to handle bullying and potentially threatening situations.
Through age-appropriate instruction and hands-on activities, participants will explore important principles of personal safety, including:
- Recognizing Bullying: Understanding physical, verbal, social, and cyberbullying and how to identify potentially dangerous situations.
- Building Confidence: Developing assertive body language, communication skills, and the confidence to stand up for yourself.
- Setting Boundaries: Learning how to establish personal boundaries, respond to intimidation, and avoid unnecessary confrontations.
- Conflict De-escalation: Practicing strategies to defuse tense situations and recognize when to walk away or seek help.
- Practical Self-Defense: Learning basic Krav Maga techniques to protect yourself when physical safety is threatened.
Our goal isn't to teach teens how to fight. It's to help them develop the judgment, confidence, and skills to avoid conflict whenever possible and protect themselves when necessary.
No previous martial arts experience is required. This workshop is appropriate for beginners and experienced students alike.
