UNSCRIPTED ~ An Embodied Relational Movement Series
In this 4 week series. you are invited to explore, re-write, improvise and experiment with the scripts you are carrying in your body and in your relationships. Together, we will create space for the unexpected, the weird and awkward, the playful, and the real.
How do we navigate closeness and distance?
When do we lead, follow, resist, or accommodate? How do we exercise agency and stay sovereign while maintaining closeness and connection?
What happens when we slow down enough to feel our impulses, communicate our experience, and remain curious about another person's reality?
This series offers a space to experiment with new possibilities for connection, expression, boundaries, and responsiveness. Rather than seeking a right way to move or relate, we will cultivate the capacity to stay present with what emerges, allowing our bodies, our curiosity, and our encounters to inform what comes next.
Drawing from practices in Contact Improvisation Dance, Authentic Relating and Somatics we will explore the living territory between intention and impulse, certainty and curiosity, habit and spontaneity. We will practice listening to the body, communicating what is true in the moment, and staying open to the unexpected possibilities that arise when we meet another person without needing to know exactly what comes next.
The invitation is to notice the roles we inhabit, loosen the patterns that no longer serve us, and discover more choice in how we move, connect, and participate in the unfolding dance of relationship. Less script, more play!
Unscripted is for all bodies and inquiring minds.
