Unsane is an influential American noise rock trio formed in New York City in 1988, known for pioneering a raw, aggressive blend of hardcore punk, metal, and industrial noise. Founded by Chris Spencer (vocals/guitar), the band became staples of the NYC underground scene with a searing, power-trio sound, gaining prominence in the 1990s with visceral imagery and the hit "Scrape".
