Unravel deals with themes of identity, love, comfort, ritual and revelation. Perceived figures are wrapped, cloaked and sometimes feathered in states of figurative absence and transition. Investigated through the traditionally feminine items of clothing, soft materials and thread., the work aims to touch a more universal truth of the gentle and powerful force of love, and it's capacity to recover, revive and reanimate the ashes of any of us.
Cath is a painter and mixed media artist from Cork, based in Dublin, whose work explores themes of love, wonder and awe as part of the human experience. Her work is informed by myth, folklore, storytelling , languages and culture.
Further to studying languages and culture at University College Cork, she worked a variety of roles before committing to her artistic practice in 2024. She teaches art to students in her home suburb of Stillorgan.
