We have two fabulous speakers who will each present a short focused talk about their favorites subjects, and then take questions from the audience.Sara Bon-Harper is the Executive Director of James Monroe’s Highland in Albemarle County, Virginia. Utilizing her Ph.D. in Anthropology, her work emphasizes academic initiatives. Research she initiated recently discovered the archaeological remains of the Monroes' main house and opened a new chapter of site interpretation. "An Attachment Preserved Ever Afterwards: James Monroe, Lafayette, and Connections Forged in Battle" will be her focus.
Our second speaker, Rick Britton,is an award-winning historian specializing in 18th- and 19th-century Virginia history. The author of three books and over 200 articles, Rick also conducts tours, illustrates maps for history books, and is a frequent lecturer on a wide range of Virginia history topics. "The Marquis de Lafayette at the University of Virginia" will be his focus.
