At the start of every song, the drum echoes and holds everyone within reach. Each singer has generations of knowledge and understanding of the cultural instruments we use. This connection brings us closer to the true gift of revitalizing, uplifting, and strengthening as a community. This year’s theme is “Healing Through the Songs of the People”. Our vision for this event takes admiration from the power of our songs and the drum groups that call people together. In spirit, we invite everyone to the John M. Huntsman Center Arena to celebrate and honor the cultural heartbeat of our Pow Wow.
The University of Utah Pow Wow is an opportunity for tribal members throughout the Intermountain West to meet and honor the cultural and religious practices of their communities. Pow Wow is planned in partnership with Student Affairs; the Center for Native Excellence & Tribal Engagement; and the University of Utah’s Inter-Tribal Student Association.
