From the destruction and renewal of our lands to the warmth and comfort it provides, fire is woven into the fabric of human existence.
Join us for an unforgettable evening as the University of Memphis Wind Ensemble delves into the mesmerizing and powerful theme of fire. Experience the breathtaking journey as we explore the transformative and sometimes devastating force of fire on our lives.
Be captivated by the performance of UofM Assistant Professor of Horn, Dr. Jeremiah Frederick, as he takes center stage to interpret the work of prominent Ukrainian-Australian composer Cathy Likhuta in "Sure-Fire." Lose yourself in the melodic storytelling as we close the evening with GRAMMY Award-winning composer Michael Daugherty's musical tribute to Olympic Gold medalist Jesse Owens in "The Adventures of Jesse Owens."
Mark your calendars for Monday, September 30 at 7 PM, and join us as we reflect on the myriad ways in which fire shapes and influences our lives.
