Sam Tanenhaus, former editor of the New York Times Book Review Section, 2004-2013, will discuss William Buckley's life and times. He'll detail the many roles Buckley played as a political and cultural influencer, including editor of National Review, the 20th century's most influential political journal; syndicated columnist; Emmy-winning TV debater; bestselling spy novelist; ally of Joseph McCarthy and Barry Goldwater; and mentor to Ronald Reagan.
This event will take place in the Marjorie Barrick Museum of Art auditorium. Attendance is free. Everyone is welcome. The University Forum Lecture Series is organized by UNLV's College of Liberal Arts
