Unity in adversity - The geopolitical case for joining the EU
About this Event
There are many good arguments for the UK to rejoin the EU, and it's hardly surprising that the debate often focuses on regaining lost opportunities and rights for UK citizens or the benefits to trade and the wider economy.
Against a backdrop of the brutal Russian invasion of Ukraine, the chaotic corruption and malevolence of the Trump administration, the economic and political challenge from China, and fracturing global institutions, the geopolitical case for joining the EU deserves greater attention.
Sir Nick Harvey, CEO of European Movement UK, will join us in the Maypole Free House in Cambridge on Monday 26th October, at 6.30 pm to discuss the geopolitical case for joining the EU.
The talk will be held in the upstairs room of the Maypole. Doors will be open from 6pm, and the talk will start at 6.30 pm. Nick will speak for about half an hour, after which we'll open the floor to questions from the audience. This discussion will be chaired by Paul Browne of Cambridge for Europe.
The Maypole serves a wide range of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, as well as a food menu with a strong Italian flavour!
Registration is free, but we encourage you to make a donation if you can to support future Cambridge for Europe events and campaign activities.
