Mia’s strength, light, and magical spirit inspired everyone who knew her, and now we run in her honor.
Heterotaxy Syndrome is a rare and complex condition that affects the arrangement of the body’s organs and is often associated with serious heart defects. It occurs in roughly 1 in 10,000 births, yet many have never heard of it. The journey for families affected by Heterotaxy is filled with medical challenges, uncertainty, and the need for greater awareness and research.
Mia's unicorn 5K is more than just a race—it’s a celebration of Mia’s life and a step toward hope for other children and families walking a similar path. Proceeds from this event will be donated to The Heterotaxy Connection, a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting families, raising awareness, and funding research to improve outcomes for those with Heterotaxy Syndrome.
