Unhooking from Thought: A Peer-Practice Day
About this Event
Don't believe everything you think.
Thoughts can be convincing. They show up sounding like facts, warnings or truths about who we are, and it's easy to follow, fight or try to fix them. But what if they could be questioned, played with, or simply seen for what they are?
This peer-practice day is an invitation to explore a different relationship with the thinking mind. The aim isn't to stop thinking, but to hold our thinking with a little more space, humour and curiosity. Psychologists call this psychological flexibility: the ability to notice thoughts without getting trapped by them, and it's closely linked to resilience and wellbeing.
Influences
The day draws on the following practices:
- Stemless
- Fooling
- The Headless Way
- Transformational Connection (Circling)
- The Work of Byron Katie
The practices we'll explore are influenced by these approaches, but the event is not intended as a formal training or direct transmission of any of them.
I'm certified in Transformational Connection and in facilitating The Work of Byron Katie. While the other approaches have deeply shaped my own practice and understanding, I'm not certified in them.
