This workshop offers participants an in-depth look at the custom ShiftDriver 1-bit spatial audio technology used in Emmett Palaima's “Soundbathing” performances. The session will cover the system's overall architecture, including composition and sound design techniques, alongside the conceptual motivations driving its development as part of an ongoing project to build the world's largest spatial audio instrument. The workshop will conclude with an opportunity for participants to connect their own audio sources and have them translated into 1-bit spatial sound.
