Please join us for Unexpected Music, featuring Milky Maze and Jeff Angeley!Recording under the project title milkymaze, Maisy McVicar's music is not of this time, and possibly not of this terrestrial plane. Like a traveler through time and space, her music echoes the sentiments of a bygone era, lyrically reminiscent of turn of the century Dust Bowl Music and accentuated by haunting melodies and distant echoes that intertwine to create a sonic landscape that is both somber and spiritual, inspired by folk traditions and experimental sounds alike.

Jeff Angeley is a songwriter and multi-instrumentalist with an abiding adoration of poetic and thoughtful lyrics. He’s known for his ties to the roots and traditional fiddle music community but his personal roots began on electric bass with a noisy garage rock band. Add to that experiences as a concert band trumpeter, a jazz manouche guitar player, the accordion and cello player in New Bedford’s Pebbles of Rain indie folk quartet, and even a stint playing pedal steel in an avant-garde dance band whose name he still isn't sure how to pronounce, and it’s fair to say his range is broad. In his solo work are flashes of tradition, noise, poetry, jazz, classical, and contemporary innovation and he uses the many musical gadgets at his disposal to make sure each performance is a unique concert experience.
