Join us on Friday, October 27th in the Old Dutch Church in Kingston, NY to welcome Undertow Brass Band (fka What Cheer? Brigade) back to Kingston for the first time since Brassroots 2021, with local party brass project Brasskill opening.
Wear your finest costume and dance it out to shiny horns in the pews! It's a big takeover. Suggested donation wine/beer bar from 7-8PM. No food or drink of any kind permitted in the chapel.

Since 2005, the band has been as likely to appear at community benefits as at all-night parties, playing bars, clubs, streets, libraries, cemeteries, weddings, bus stops, and playgrounds. We’ve played with Blondie, Dan Deacon, Man Man, Japanther, Dengue Fever, Okkervil River, Lightning Bolt, Ninjasonik, Mika Miko, Wolf Parade, Matt and Kim, Slavic Soul Party, Javelin, Sage Francis, and Chain and the Gang. We’ve appeared at Lollapalooza, The Newport Folk Festival, Aarhus Festuge (Denmark), Sziget (Hungary), and Guca (Serbia), offering mobile moments of intense revelry.
Brasskill is a lively 14-piece party brass band whose mission is to get your party out on dance floor. Bringing funky decibels to parties, festivals, parades and other merry gatherings in Hudson Valley and surrounding areas, Brasskill's high-energy live performances feature driving percussion section, shiny, melodic horns, innovative band choreography, LED lights, and the finest thrift store sparkly attire that one can find. The band's wide-ranging repertoire includes music from the New Orleans second line tradition, punk and pop covers, international grooves, as well as original compositions and arrangements.
