This workshop is designed for guitar players who want to better understand how their instrument works, how a proper setup affects playability and tone, and when adjustments can safely be made — and when it’s best to seek professional help.

Rather than focusing on speed or full repairs, this session emphasizes understanding, discernment, and instrument care. Jon brings over a decade of professional experience as a guitar technician, working across repair, live performance, and touring environments. His touring experience includes work on large-scale international and national productions, including tours with Metallica.

What We’ll Cover

• What a “guitar setup” actually includes
• How neck relief, action, and intonation work together
• Common myths and misconceptions
• What changes are safe to make at home
• When adjustments should be left to a professional

Live Demonstration
Jon will walk through a full guitar setup on a demonstration instrument, explaining each adjustment and the reasoning behind it. Participants will learn how to observe and assess their own guitars with more confidence.
