Understanding Sensory Processing Through Experience

The Senses Project's reflective workshops are a fully engaging and interactive approach to collaborative learning.

Reflective Workshops are designed to get the best out of every participant, where every body has experiences, understanding, and questions which will benefit everyone's learning. The Workshops promote curiosity and self-reflection in a way which will:

• Support transferring your practical experiences and understanding from the workshop in to your working approach
• Leave everyone with key ideas and focusses for how they can adapt within their role

Our team will host the workshop for a group of up to 40 people. This one-off workship will be hosted for a group, which may include professionals from Social care, Education, Healthcare, and Mental Health Services.

We will work with the group to identify achievements, opportunities to improve, and explore their ideas around how they will achieve their group aims.

As we progress through the day the group will work in small breakout teams, individually, and as a whole. We will reflect on your own practice, strategies discussed, the pathways we use, and confidentially discuss specific experiences relevant to the workshop topic.

We will give time to each attendee to be able to offer 1:1 guidance and discussion around key interests or challenges they face.

The workshop will finish with reflecting on our aims, agreed strategies, and feedback from the day.

Sensory Processing can be really hard to relate to and consider in the moment.
For many neurodiverse people, or people who experience trauma, sensory demands can be constantly exhausting and triggering.
